AI in Healthcare: My Talk at Manipal Institute of Technology
Reflections on speaking to students at MIT about AI's impact on healthcare, real-world use cases, and the inspiration from their questions.

AI in Healthcare: Preparing Systems for the Next Transformation
Recently I had the opportunity to speak to 60+ bright undergraduate and postgraduate students from the Department of Mathematics & Data Science at Manipal Institute of Technology on âAI in Healthcare: Preparing Systems for the Next Transformationâ.
We discussed how AI is transforming healthcareâthrough early diagnostics, faster drug discovery, real-time patient monitoring, and use cases from Aravind Eye Hospital, DeepMind, Nvidia Clara, Johns Hopkins, and Fernandez Hospital.
The students made the session truly engaging with their questions on rural healthcare, economic challenges, and ethical considerations in AI adoption. Their feedback left me inspired:
⨠âThe session was very insightful and interactive.â
⨠âI got to know about rural access, immediate diagnosis, and economic issues too.â
⨠âIt was informative, motivating, and engaging.â
On a personal note, it was a special dayâmeeting and interacting with Dr. Chandrakala, current Joint Director of Manipal Institute of Technology and also my teacher, along with my teachers Drs- Ramakrishna M, Rashmi naveen raj, and Ghanshyam Prabhu.
A big thanks to Dr. Indira and the Department of Mathematics & Data Science for hosting me so warmly.
