AI in Healthcare: Preparing Systems for the Next Transformation

Recently I had the opportunity to speak to 60+ bright undergraduate and postgraduate students from the Department of Mathematics & Data Science at Manipal Institute of Technology on “AI in Healthcare: Preparing Systems for the Next Transformation”.

We discussed how AI is transforming healthcare—through early diagnostics, faster drug discovery, real-time patient monitoring, and use cases from Aravind Eye Hospital, DeepMind, Nvidia Clara, Johns Hopkins, and Fernandez Hospital.

The students made the session truly engaging with their questions on rural healthcare, economic challenges, and ethical considerations in AI adoption. Their feedback left me inspired:

✨ “The session was very insightful and interactive.”

✨ “I got to know about rural access, immediate diagnosis, and economic issues too.”

✨ “It was informative, motivating, and engaging.”

On a personal note, it was a special day—meeting and interacting with Dr. Chandrakala, current Joint Director of Manipal Institute of Technology and also my teacher, along with my teachers Drs- Ramakrishna M, Rashmi naveen raj, and Ghanshyam Prabhu.

A big thanks to Dr. Indira and the Department of Mathematics & Data Science for hosting me so warmly.
